HOW OFTEN IS THE HAPPY READER PUBLISHED?

The Happy Reader is a biannual bookish magazine. We publish twice a year, once in summer (June) and once in winter (December).

 

HOW MUCH DOES A SUBSCRIPTION FOR THE HAPPY READER COST?

Two types of subscription are available for The Happy Reader:

Subscription – Subscribing for yourself? Select this option and pay per issue as The Happy Reader is published
Gift subscription – Subscribing for someone else? Pay for 4 issues of The Happy Reader at once. Your recipient will receive an issue of The Happy Reader every 6 months over two years.

For subscriptions, we charge the following amounts depending on where you are in the world:

Price per issue (inc. P&P)

Europe £3
Worldwide £4.25

 

For gift subscriptions, we charge the following:

Price for 4 issues (inc. P&P)
UK £8
Europe £12
Worldwide £17

 

HOW CAN I PAY FOR MY SUBSCRIPTION?


We accept all major debit and credit cards. All of our payments are processed by Stripe. They use state-of-the-art security to make sure your card details, as well as any payments made by you, are handled safely. You can also take a look at our Privacy Policy here.

 

WHEN WILL MY SUBSCRIPTION START?

When you subscribe, you’ll start off with the next issue. You do have the option to order the current issue or back issues (if they are still in stock). If you have any questions about the start and end date of your subscription, please check your confirmation email for further information – or get in touch with us via subscription@thehappyreader.com.

 

WHEN WILL MY ISSUE ARRIVE?

Our current expected delivery time-frames are:
UK – 3-5 working days
Europe – 5-7 working days
Worldwide – up to 4 to 6 weeks depending on location

We deliver all issues via Royal Mail in the UK, and DHL in Europe and the rest of the world.

I’M MOVING, HOW CAN I CHANGE MY ADDRESS?


You can change your details on the website once you’ve logged into your account. We’ll use that new address from the next issue.

 


HOW DO I KNOW WHEN MY SUBSCRIPTION RUNS OUT?


If you have chosen to pay twice a year, your subscription will continue until you choose to cancel it or your billing details are no longer valid. Otherwise, you will be informed by email when you are receiving your last issue.

 

HOW CAN I CANCEL MY SUBSCRIPTION?


If you’d like to cancel your subscription, you can do so on the ‘My Account’ page on the site. You’ll receive a cancellation confirmation email too.

 

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY PAYMENT IS UNSUCCESSFUL?


If there are any issues with your payment, we’ll send you an email to let you know. If you want to continue receiving The Happy Reader, you’ll need to check your payment details and update them.

 

HOW CAN I ORDER BACK ISSUES?

You can order back issues of The Happy Reader via the ‘Shop’ page on the site. We typically have the current issue and the previous issue in stock.

 

HOW CAN I SUBMIT WORK TO BE PUBLISHED IN THE HAPPY READER?

We don’t general accept unsolicited requests for work to be published in the magazine, however anything that does reach us will be forwarded on internally if we think our Editorial team would be interested in it.

 

DOES THE HAPPY READER OFFER AN INTERNSHIP PROGRAM?

We do not currently offer internships with The Happy Reader, but you can have a look at the available internship/work experience opportunities within Penguin Random House.

 

HOW CAN I BECOME A STOCKIST OF THE HAPPY READER?
